Riverview Cambodian Immersion
Donation protected
The Matesabroad Foundation is an Australian charity run by past Riverview parents who donate their time and expertise free of charge. This fundraiser is to support the students living in the squatter communities of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, at three schools supported by The Matesabroad Foundation. [www.matesabroad.org.au].
Each week in May, Riverview students will conduct one on one zoom teaching sessions with Cambodian students in a virtual immersion to help them improve their English.
We are trying to raise as much money as possible to ensure that each Cambodian student we work with receives a scholarship so they can continue to attend school.
The average family income of these students is $10 per day. As a result, many students have no option but to drop out of school to work in the markets or the garment factories with their parents.
The cost for one scholarship is $250. There are 107 students needing scholarships in 2025. Any support that you can provide will be gratefully appreciated as it will have an immediate impact on the lives of these children.
