2025 Presentation Sisters of Pakistan Khipro Teacher Support
Donation protected
The Presentation Sisters of Pakistan operate numerous schools in Pakistan, including 12 remote village schools in Khipro, located in the southern province of Sindh. These schools employ approximately 70 dedicated teachers. They each earn around $1800 per annum.
Our schools offer educational opportunities to children unable to access education due to extreme poverty and disadvantage. Each village school operates from Prep to grade 5 level. The schools educate children in the national language of Urdu, as well as the provincial language of Sindhi and English.
The salaries of the teachers who commit to providing the best teaching and learning experience for their students are funded only by overseas donations from Ireland, Australia and The Netherlands.
The consequences of the COVID 19 pandemic of 2020 are still being felt as some of our generous overseas benefactors discontinued their support.
As a result, we are increasingly finding it difficult to source the necessary funds to pay the wages of our teachers. These teachers continue to provide valuable education to their students and will continue to do so. They can only maintain this commitment for so long before they are forced to leave their teaching position to work elsewhere.
This go fund me campaign asks for your generous donation to ensure these teachers can receive their wages to avoid further hardship too themselves and their families.
The village schools educate children from Christian, Hindu and Muslim backgrounds across kindergarten to grade 5. The breakdown as of November 2024 can be viewed in the tables below.

These teachers, along with all of our teachers, are valuable members of our 13 strong school community in Khipro. Their conditions are challenging, yet they remain committed and loyal to the goals we strive to achieve for the poorest members of our society.
Please invest in the most important resource these communities have, their teachers.
The images below were taken in November 2024 at some of our schools. They typically represent the type of schools run by the Presentation Sisters in this part of Pakistan. Each school employs between one and four teachers.

Through the work of these teachers the community of Khipro along with The Presentation Sisters of Pakistan strive to achieve the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
