2024 Junior National Championships

Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,

My name is Jenna Johnson, and I am reaching out with both excitement and a humble request for your support. Despite a season filled with ups and downs, I am thrilled to share that I've earned a spot on the 2024 Great Lakes Junior National Team that will be competing at the USSA Cross Country Ski Junior National Championships in Lake Placid, New York.

As a freshman in college, I've come to realize that financial challenges are an inherent part of this journey. Unfortunately, this year, I find myself unable to cover the entire cost of this incredible opportunity. While I am eager to independently fund my participation, I am unable to do so.

This season has been uniquely challenging, testing my resilience in ways I have not experienced before. I was hesitant to accept the spot to go race in New York as I wondered whether or not it would be worth it. This season, I faced a difficult period of illness that sidelined me for 5 weeks, where I only started feeling better after the first weekend of racing. Every race I entered I knew I would be unable to perform at my desired level, knowing I wasn’t in peak condition.

However, with the unwavering support of teammates, coaches, family, and friends, coupled with wicked fast skis, I managed to secure the last spot for this trip. This journey has taught me the importance of having the confidence to put myself out there and the courage to persevere, even when faced with repeated failures. Every new day presents a fresh opportunity to grow, and with your support, I am determined to embrace this chance in Lake Placid, New York. I want to approach this trip with boldness, giving myself the opportunity to succeed - firmly believing that anything is possible.

Your contribution will go directly towards covering the expenses associated with my trip to Lake Placid, New York, including travel, accommodation, and competition fees. I am committed to utilizing 100% of the funds raised for this purpose, ensuring that every dollar goes towards making this opportunity a reality.
