Varsity AC - 2024 “Dream Team”

A very select group of twelve 8th graders have been asked to be part of a 2024 International “Dream Team”.
Chosen because of their consistent display of hard work, dedication, and strong character both on & off the
court, these young men will embark on a 7-day trip to Morocco, Africa!
As national ambassadors, they will travel to Casablanca in June to participate in elite athletic competitions and run basketball clinics for locals, learn about civic engagement and engage in social service projects, and visit historic cities & world-famous institutions.
The “Dream Team” is a Varsity Athletic Club endeavor, and they have been serving the community for over 35 years. They are proud to offer a youth exchange program, centered around basketball & sports diplomacy. By leveraging the power of sport, they will be able to provide a platform for young people to expand their vision and engage in empowerment, health & wellness, cultural appreciation and entrepreneurism in a much broader capacity than ever before!
The Varsity A.C. has partnered with local organizations, including the J. Babe Stearn Community Center & Global Ties – Akron, who will provide community support for this project. They also have a strong international partner, Tibu Africa, who is the current locomotive for sport & socio-economic development across their continent.
However, these students will need additional support to make this happen. And it is with help from people like YOU, that we can ensure all athletes are able to participate, regardless of ability to pay.
