The charity ‘Avoca’ (A Voice of Central Americans) works to support projects amongst several poor communities in the capital city of the tiny Central American country of El Salvador. Approaching 15 years now, the charity has run a project working alongside El Salvadoran coaches teaching soccer skills to children and also mentoring young people and adults to either become coaches or improve their knowledge of soccer. The aim of the project is to give young people an alternative focus away from gang led lives reinforcing the importance of making positive life choices.
I was fortunate to attend and participate in the AVOCA camps in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Now, almost 8 year laters I look forward to returning to El Salvador, coaching soccer, the game I love to players, mentoring and interacting with El Salvadoran communities. This year joining me, will be a player of mine, fellow coach, and great friend, Jesus Montes Herrera.
Your support helps cover the expenses associated with the trip, and also go towards equipment, gear, and experiences for the AVOCA camps. This year the project runs from March 23rd - March 29th.
Thank you for all your support!
