2023 Triple - London, Edinburgh, The Wall
This year I'm raising money in aid of North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team after they were instrumental in saving a good mates life earlier this year! I'll be running London Marathon in April, Edinburgh Marathon in May and The Wall Ultramarathon (Carlisle to Newcastle) in June for a triple header and training is, so far, going very well indeed.
I wasn't going to fundraise this year because raising funds doing something I love to do and where the biggest challenge is (assuming I get to the start lines), aiming to beat specific times; I've thought hard over the past few weeks and feel that this is something I can't let pass by without trying to do some good.
My targets are:
- London - sub 3hr30min.
- Edinburgh - same as London if missed or shave some time off if attained.
- The Wall - 14hrs total, 2 hours quicker than 2022 (finish by 9pm Saturday).
More Information about North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team:
North of Tyne Mountain Rescue Team delivers essential Search and Rescue cover for the whole of the Northumberland Police area, including much of Hadrian's Wall, the Cheviot Hills, Simonside Hills and parts of the Pennine Way.
The Team covers both urban and remote environments and call outs include searching for missing or vulnerable people, and rescuing walkers, fell runners, climbers and mountain bikers who are injured or lost.
The Team is made up entirely of skilled and professional volunteers, responds to around 50 call outs each year and are on call 24/7/365.
The service is a charity which receives no funding and relies on kind donations to keep the Team operational.
Thank you so much for any help you can donate so the Team are able to continue with their critically important work and be able to be there when it matters(ed) most.
