2023: The Year of The Love Muscles

Hello, my name is Megan Martinez and as long as I can remember I have always loved performing and making music. Singing songs that make people dance, laugh, or forget about their worries, even for a moment, is my greatest joy.

I have had the honor of fronting large bands for seven years and now I have an incredible, dancable, femmetastic, soul-pop band in New Orleans called The Love Muscles. We are gaining momentum, but need some financial support to help bring us to the next level.

Our collective mission as a band is to help foster a musical community where all people, especially those of the feminine persuasion, feel safe and free to dance, laugh, shake their booties, and join in our rebel cry of “Empower the Clit!”

In a world where societal pressures and imposed gender roles can weigh someone down so much as to stamp the silliness right out of them we believe that playfulness and joy can be a powerful act of protest.

We want to spread our message and our music far and wide. But we can’t do it alone.

Our goal is to raise funding for our upcoming tour, recording, and merchandise through two 40 day crowd-funding campaigns.
