2023 Thailand Missions Trip

Hello!

I am so excited to announce that I will be traveling to Thailand to work with Empower International this November! My name is LaTanya and the little person in the photo below is a picture of me! More on that later.

Empower International is a Christian organization that aids in child trafficking prevention/ rescue, humanitarian relief, church and bible school planting. They have several orphanages and safe homes for children who were once victims of sex trafficking or at risk of being trafficked. Many of these children have also lost their parents to drug abuse or illnesses. One of the ministry's main mission is to develop Christian leaders in their communities to help establish new and healthy beginnings for future generations in Thailand, Pakistan, and Myanmar.

I look forward to my first missions trip to Thailand to serve a cause that is near and dear to my own heart. Many of you may not know this, but at one time I also did not have a family. The photo below is a picture of me as toddler, still without a family. It is the only picture I have of myself around that age, and it saddens me because I can see how sad I was. It's also cute to see that I have always loved turtle necks lol. About a year or so after this photo was taken, God blessed me with two wonderful parents to love and protect me through life's ups and downs, to give me support and uplift me, and to help me heal from the pain of losing my previous family. Many of the little one's in Thailand are still waiting to experience the unfailing and unconditional love of a parent. The missionary's who serve there long-term pour out their hearts and work hard to make sure that each child feels the love of their heavenly father, but it is not easy work. My fundraising goal is going towards raising money for supplies for the little ones and to support the long-term missionary's in Thailand, who are native to the area.

I am looking forward to seeing ALL that God is going to do this year! I cannot wait to share about the love of a heavenly father with the children in Thailand, hoping that His love will comfort and guide them as it has for me my entire life- in seasons with and without a family.
