Dear Friends and Family,
Thank you so much for taking a moment for me. Early October, I went into SEARHC ER with some abdominal/leg pain I had been fighting for a while. After some tests, they strongly suggested I be transferred to Swedish Hospital in Seattle immediately. Carter and I packed up a quick bag of necessities to get us by for a short while, and off to Seattle we went. After a month of paper gowns, bloodwork, and scans I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. I am scheduled to begin chemotherapy this week, in Washington and will not be able to return home until I finish treatment.
This diagnosis is the hardest thing I have ever had to face and asking for help is just one more thing cancer is putting me in a position to do, that I am uncomfortable with. But, unfortunately, I am unable to provide for myself for now and am in for a lifetime of doctors appointments and scans. All proceeds will go towards medical expenses, travel expenses, groceries, housing, and other basic needs until I am able to return to a normal lifestyle.
Thank you for your consideration in such a difficult time.
Update 1/16/24:
WOW! Thank you so much for the incredible outpouring of love, support, and generosity! I am overwhelmed with gratitude for each and every one of you. Nobody could have prepared me for the emotional feeling of being unable to provide for myself and family and you all have helped make this much easier. Today I completed my 3rd round of Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy. So far, treatment hasn’t treated me too terribly besides a few uncomfortable side effects, like some expected neuropathy in my hands, the loss of my hair being painful physically and emotionally, and mourning the loss of my pre-diagnosis self.

My GoFundMe is just the beginning. There is an upcoming fundraiser, to help me cover my medical bills, in the making, organized by my wonderful friend Robin. Please stay tuned for more information. Your continued support, prayers, and positive vibes mean the world to me and my family.
Thank you once again for your incredible support #TeamSophie
