2023 Dumbo Dance Festival New York Trip

Hello everyone, our names are Sophia Bernardo & Leila Massoudi!

We are current seniors at California State University, Fullerton majoring in Dance and this past semester co-choreographed a piece, "Lavanertia" for our Fall Dance Concert. In receiving such positive feedback, we decided to submit our piece to some well-known dance festivals.

It is with great excitement that we announce that our piece was accepted into the 2023 Dumbo Dance Festival in Brooklyn, NY at Mark Morris Dance Center, Duffy Theater!!!

"DDF attracts the very best by providing artists allowing our global audiences to experience, first hand, the incomparable vitality of the NY and around world Dance scene." (WhiteWaveDance.org)

This opportunity to share our work in a community seeking new, emerging and innovative dancemakers allows us, and our dancers, to embark on our individual artistic journeys post-college.

With this event being in NY, we will have to fund travel, housing, food, and transportation for 8 people. Due to all of us being students, relying heavily on fundraising and scholarships is how we plan to make this trip possible for us.

We would greatly appreciate any and all donations!!
