2023 Butch & Alice Puente Memorial ScholarshipFund

Hello, my name is Janie Puente Garcia and I am proud to be a supporter and chairperson of the 2023 Butch and Alice Puente Scholarship Fund.

The scholarship is awarded each year to a senior at La Feria High School in La Feria, Tx where Butch and Alice became high school sweethearts. Since 2015 we have awarded more than $10,000 to high school seniors. This project is a dream that Butch had in early 2013 despite his illness. His loving wife, Alice, supported the project during his illness and well after his death on November 24, 2014. She was instrumental in encouraging me to continue with this cause. It has been a true blessing and today it is more important than ever. Alice has gone to be with the Lord and I'm sure she is with the "love of her life", Norberto (Butch ) Puente.
