2023: A New Creation by Noa Genazzano

Donation protected
I am incredibly excited to announce that I’ve been selected to premiere a new solo work entitled 2023 at The Blue Elephant Theatre in London on November 4 & 5, 2022. It will be my first solo performance in London, and I have been working hard to create a beautiful new show. I have made this campaign to ask for your support in bringing the final vision to life!

What your support does:
As you may know, new creations have many costs. Your support brings this work to life by allowing me to hire and pay my collaborators in line with Equity Standards; these include an assistant choreographer, a videographer, and a performance technician, among others. It will also help me cover logistical overhead costs like costumes, lighting hire, props, and marketing costs. It takes a village to bring a vision to life; your support will help make it possible.

About the Piece:
2023 is a response to the growing need for change in the world we’re living in. A change of awareness in how we relate to our earth is needed urgently. We are facing unprecedented challenges as a collective with our planet reaching saturating levels of pollution, overwhelmingly extreme temperatures, soil degradation and increasingly frequent natural disasters. However, there is still time to shift the direction. 2023 invites the audience to reflect on their own relationship to the earth and takes us on a journey to glimpse a possibility of the world we are capable of creating when we reconnect with our planet.

My Vision:
Following my first show, U Are The Universe, premiering at Triskelion Arts in Brooklyn, New York, in 2018, I founded my company Universe in Motion to inspire personal and global shifts in awareness through movement, meditation, and performance art. My mission is to create work with a social impact, creating a wake up call to the critical environmental state of the earth and providing tools towards positive action through the arts.

About Me:
I am a London based dancer. Previously residing in New York for 12 years, I graduated as a Level 1 Scholarship Recipient from The Ailey School where I also performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, amongst others.

Since relocating to London in 2016, I have worked with a variety of esteemed choreographers such as Maxine Doyle (Punchdrunk), Vinicius Salles (Punchdrunk, Jasmin Vardimon), as well as Humanhood, as a part of Sadler’s Wells Wild Card Series.

Bringing back training and experience from the US, I am one of few teachers offering Horton Technique in the UK, I am a mentor at Danceworks Intensive Mentored Dance Programme and have taught at numerous universities such as London Studio Centre, University of Winchester and Institute for Contemporary Theatre.

Confirmed Collaborators:
Composer, Joe Scott: performed and recorded with well-known international artists such as Grammy Award-winning singer Lauryn Hill, Peter Gabriel, M.C. Hammer, and Teddy Riley (producer of Michael Jackson), among others.

Composer, James Keane, has created music for Hofesh Shechter, Theo Clinkard, and Joss Arnott, among others.

Reviews of Previous Work
“Noa Genazzano’s performance and choreography is undeniably exciting. She, and the dancers, impressed us all with interesting, engaging, at times playful, and always mature, dance... She is a fresh, young talent and her art ought to be fostered” - Britton Fisher, Board Member The Joyce Theatre, New York City

Noa’s artistic voice and vision is something special because of her fearless yet gentle movement to describe the most intimate and overwhelming story: Self-Realization. Her motivation to be a way-shower of her generation is outstanding. From the mundane illusion of what life appears to be, Noa takes you on a ride of self discovery to the beautiful moment where you realize you are a part of everything.” - Danica Paulos, Company Member Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater

Any support you can offer towards this project is immensely appreciated!
