Dear friends, I am counting on your generous support to help us achieve our fundraising goal of $10,000 for the fall 2023 Ameri-Steam coding and leadership boot camp for girls.
Ameri-STEAM's mission is to impact and empower middle and high-school girls to become leaders and agents of change in their communities.
From 2018-2023, Ameri-STEAM successfully operated three boot camps in the Ivory Coast for 400 girls in partnership with Oracle Academy (The camp did not operate between 2020-2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Our program is designed to:
- Increase girls' access to a stimulating educational summer camp;
- Encourage girls to consider careers in Science, Technology, English, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM);
- Enable girls to use technologies efficiently in their daily practices;
- Sharpen girls' knowledge and soft skills.
Our most recent summer boot camp was held from July to August 2023. Ameri-STEAM implemented a robust summer camp curriculum with a focus on the following :
- Coding, Public Speaking, Leadership and English classes combined with in-person and online exchanges with experts to empower the girls with knowledge and confidence.
- Project management of mini-projects to encourage creativity in carrying out tasks;
- Exercise, educational games and Campfire storytelling to develop their Interpersonal and communication skills.
