Hi, my name is Emily & I'm running the 2022 NYC Marathon in support of 2 abortion clinics.

I believe the SCOTUS ruling to overturn Roe v Wade, the constitutional right to abortion, is harmful and wrong from an equity, public health & humanitarian perspective. I believe that abortions are health care and a human right. Studies show banning abortion does not mean there will be fewer abortions (here). Instead, abortion bans increase the risk of unsafe abortions & perpetuate systematic discrimination & inequality, disproportionally impacting marginalized groups, including Black, Indigenous, and other people of color, people living in low-income areas and LGBTQ+ people. I'm raising money to help ensure there are still safe ways to obtain an abortion regardless of who you are and where you live.

Many clinics in abortion-banned states are moving to the border of neighboring states - to remain as easily accessible as possible. I've chosen two abortion clinics (below) that are raising money to relocate and rebuild their clinics.
