Hi everyone! This year I will be running the Boston Marathon and will be representing the Boston Police Department runners club! For those of you who don’t know, I work as a nurse at MGH in the emergency room. Over the past few years with the pandemic, I’ve realized how important not only our front line workers in healthcare are, but also how important our first responders such as police, firefighters and EMT are as well. My more personal connection to BPD is my dad, who just officially retired last year after 33 years on the job. 

 

This will be my first marathon! In the past I have run a few half marathons and the Falmouth road race. However, in 2019 I tore my labrum and had hip surgery, which kept me out (and timid) to really commit to running a full marathon. This year I feel my best and am so excited to be a part of this amazing experience! I’m honored to represent the BPD runners club and to support their department and the charities they commit to. I would be grateful for any donations I can pass along to them.
