Dear SteepleCats Family:
Whether you are a former Player, Intern, Host Families, Sponsor, Volunteer, or a loyal Fan, we come to you today with an important update on how the SteepleCats organization is faring in what was is supposed to be our nineteenth season. While Covid may have shut us down for one season, it has not destroyed the enthusiasm that all of us have for our SteepleCats time together. We still reminisce about all the great nights we have had over the years at The Joe!
Yes, we lost our 2020 baseball season. We are saddened that all those special relationships at the park did not occur at every turn. Our Host Families who were about to take on new family members were deprived of that experience. Our team of Interns were prevented from working with each other and with major community Sponsors who would have helped them reach the next level in pursuit of their dreams. Our Fans have lost out on watching one of the great summer collegiate teams in the U.S. As for our Players, there is no undertaking like spending a summer in North Adams, MA and the NECBL, honing one’s baseball skills as you climb the ladder to Major League Baseball.
Losing our season comes with a “cost.” With no season to help us pay the bills, we are reaching out to you to ensure 2021 will be a season to be proud of. With your help we will bounce back stronger than ever. We all expect the best of ourselves as it relates to the SteepleCats.
Both on and off the field, you can help us accomplish the following:
⮚ Concession: Make necessary upgrades to the concession stand.
⮚ Press Box: Necessary upgrades to our press box to handle two new pieces of software to support our partnership with MLB.
⮚ Field Tarp: Make necessary repairs to our field tarp.
⮚ Player/Fan Experience: Increased player and fan experience to make the most out of each night at The Joe.
The above improvements at our facility and enhancing our fan’s experience throughout The Joe is a necessary and the right investment for all of us to take on. You are the stewards of the SteepleCats.
