Help Send The Woodlands Youth Rugby Club To High School Boys Nationals!

Woodlands Youth Rugby Club (“Woodlands Rugby”) High School Boys team is currently undefeated, ranked #1 in Texas and #5 in the Country and has accepted an invitation to play in The Boy’s High School Rugby National Championships in Kansas City, Missouri in mid-June.  The National Championships is an invitation only three day tournament bringing together 12 of the top High School Clubs from around the country to compete for the National Championship (https://boyshighschoolrugbynationals.weebly.com/).

By Woodlands Rugby winning the National Championship; it would mark the first time ever that a Boys High School rugby team from Texas won.  In fact, dating back to the first High School Boy’s National Championship in 1981, the National Champion has only ever come from one of four states (Utah, California, New York and Indiana) and the District of Columbia. 

The cost to attend the National Championships is around $30,000 and we are approaching sponsors to pick up a good portion of that expense with the balance coming from the Club and players.  We have parents who have committed to cover some costs and the players will be participating in other fund raising activities as well.

Please help Woodlands Rugby to make this goal of being a National Champion a reality – the boys have done all the hard work, now it’s up to us to provide them with transportation, hotel rooms and meals.  The Woodlands Rugby mascot is a trio of wolves and our motto is “We Are The Pack”.  YOU can also be part of “The Pack” by simply making a donation to help send the boys to Kansas City.

Woodlands Youth Rugby Club is a multi-school club and member of Rugby Texas, the official governing body of Youth and High School Rugby for the State of Texas.  Founded in 2008, Woodlands Youth Rugby Club is a non-profit organization committed to providing community-based, recreational and competitive rugby programs for boys and girls from Kindergarten to 12th Grade that not only teach the game of Rugby and the inclusive culture of the sport but also Rugby’s Core Values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.  For the 2021 season, the Club has over 220 athletes from across Montgomery County (The Woodlands, Conroe, Willis, Magnolia, Montgomery, Splendora and Porter) and Harris County (Cypress, Tomball, Klein, Spring, Kingwood and Huffman) wearing the Woodlands Rugby jersey.
