2021 Earthquake Aquin Rebuilding Fund
Aquin, Haiti is Delray Beach's sister city. It is located approximately 10 miles from the epicenter of the 7.2 earthquake that hit Haiti on Aug. 14, 2021. Eleven (11) people were killed in the center of Aquin, and 6 more in the surrounding area, with over 250 injuries. Many homes, businesses, and municipal buildings were damaged, and Aquin's only hospital was damaged.
Sister Cities of Delray Beach is raising funds to help support the recovery effort and repair the hospital (image below) and other facilities in Aquin, including replacing medical equipment that was damaged inside of the hospital.
