2020, The Real Dumpster Fire
Howdy, howdy.
With last year's successes with my little flower crown shop, it made sense to invest into getting materials, reserving booth spaces, and all the other related upfront expenses to sell at conventions.
It made sense to invest in a year of pounding the pavement, busting ass, and getting out there.
Then covid happened.
That investment's just debt now, like everything else - because the shows didn't happen. Naturally, considering the virus, everything got cancelled.
The money wasn't made back like it was supposed to.
Nothing worked out like it was supposed to.
I was doing so well, and now I don't even know how I will be able to bounce back.
I don't know how to pay things down so I can breathe again.
My wheelchair, while used periodically (I'm not confined to it yet, there's hope!) is also over ten years old. It's a cheap transfer chair, it was never meant for the long term. Now when I use it, it rattles so much I'm afraid the seat is going to fall out underneath me. It's time to start looking at a replacement, but even a basic self propelled one starts around $1500-$2000.
I need help.
