Senior Prom Facility Rental
Donation protected
Hello all. My name is Kursta Allen, mother of Trinity Stivers, who is a G****** (can't put the full school name per the district) High School class of 2020 early graduate. We recently learned that, due to COVID-19, that their Senior prom has been canceled. This news is devastating to all of the seniors. This pandemic has caused many losses, even for myself who had to take a cut in hours at work, and although a "dance" may feel insignificant to some... it does not feel insignificant for the children who worked their entire lives for this ONE moment. Many had already purchased expensive dresses and suits that they cannot return, made deposits for hair and makeup, and became emotionally invested in THAT PROM MOMENT.
I have been in contact with many of the seniors for a while now (through a group app I created) and their spirits are amazing. They have persevered through knowing they may never walk across the stage like normal seniors or have a prom like normal kids yet they still have committed themselves to the final countdown of online classes. I promised these children a night that they will not forget and I will provide that no matter the cost to myself... but let's be honest, paying 1400 for a facility rental alone is not easy during these times. I've been working extremely hard for these kids, who I have grown to love as my own. I have received food donations, been blessed with free photographer, DJ, decorating services, and numerous others who are willing to put in their time and effort to help set up, clean up after, work staff at the event, or anything that we may we need.
Anything helps... even a share or word of mouth. I'm planning a prom for up to 400 kids... I realized that I might need a little help...lol. Times are hard, if you cannot donate, please at least share.
