2020 ministry/rent/sabbatical
Donation protected
Hello friends,
As you may know, I have been working full time in ministry/missions for 26 years and I have sensed for a while now it is time for me to take a sabbatical break (I'm thinking of taking 8-10 months in 2020). Considering that a true Biblical sabbatical is every 7 years it appears that I am long overdue. :) I am hoping to begin my sabbatical in March. I have been looking forward to this for a long time. During this sabbatical period I hope to rest, have some debriefing, go on a personal silent retreat, learn some new cooking recipes, visit some friends, family and supporters, rest some more and do a study track on the Kingdom of God. Of course I will also be open to anything else that the Lord leads me to do. My desire is that as God leads me through this time that I will be refreshed, encouraged and strengthened. My hope is that I would gain more of His heart for people and receive a greater understanding of what I am to set my hands to for the next 10-20 years. I know that I am called to full time ministry/missions for the long term and my prayer is that what I do 'with' God would be sharp and as fruitful as possible. I feel that all of this is to come out of a place of rest.
As many of you know my work with Youth With A Mission is funded by the generosity of people like you through donations and monthly support. I also receive some honorarium gifts from time to time when I teach in YWAM schools and in churches. This year I found out that one of my regular supporters of $500 (£400) per month can no longer support my work starting in January due to a change in his foundation's giving. I also heard from another supporter who gives $250 (£200) each month that he will need to stop in 2020 as well. These amounts collectively are half of my monthly support. As of January 1st I will not have enough money to pay rent monthly here in England.
I would like to ask if you would pray and consider giving towards my 2020 ministry/rent/sabbatical fund. As you can imagine 'outwardly' it seems like the worst timing possible for me to be losing support and for me to take a sabbatical. But, I am really sensing 'inwardly' that this is what the Lord is leading me in to, not to mention that I am pretty tired. The money that you give will enable me to continue to live in the UK, to finish the 1 yr programme that I am leading in January/February here in England and help towards me being able to take a sabbatical break without needing to fundraise during that time. Any amount that you could give would be a HUGE help and I would be truly grateful. Thank you for your prayers and for considering this. Hugs, Leah p.s. for those in the UK you can make a donation through Stewardship.org.uk and I will get the gift aid. https://www.give.net/20138977/oneoff
