2020 Legacy Scholarship Fund

Each year at this time, California High School holds a Senior Awards Night, where students are recognized for their achievements during their high school career.  One such award is the Legacy Scholarship.  The “Legacy” Scholarship was founded by our very own Julie Tonkovich, class of 1975 and current art teacher at Calhi.  Julie was inspired by the concept of a character who is a “Legacy” in the movie Animal House.  To date 99 “Legacy” Award recipients, have had one or more parents (and more recently grandparent) who attended California High School.  They must have plans to attend a tech school, Community College, 4-year College or University in the Fall of 2020.  Students apply for the scholarship, by submitting an essay describing their most memorable experience at Cal High as well as their favorite teacher and why.  This scholarship is funded by donations from Alumni.   To continue the tradition of leaving your Legacy and Alumni funding the scholarships, please consider donating to the "next generation" of California High School Alumni.  No amount is too small, and is greatly appreciated!

This year due  to COVID-19, things will be just a little bit different.  Our students will be participating in a drive-by pick-up this Wednesday, May 20th from 1-6.  The students will enter by the back service road, and visit several stations picking up their senior awards, yearbook, cap and gown etc as they drive through the school.  Video will be posted on Wednesday, keep a condor eye out!
