2020 SRHS Women's Lacrosse

Dawg Families, Friends and Fans!

We are onto our third season of having a women's lacrosse program at San Rafael High School. The team was created three years ago when a small group of empowered young women wanted to create a new opportunity for student-athletes in the spring. For the first season these young women, whom are now juniors and seniors, 100% self-funded the team to provide us with home and away uniforms, lacrosse gear and swag. Even though we are extremely limited in lacrosse experience we qualified for the Northern Coast Section tournament due to their hard work, dedication and bulldog mentality during our first varsity season. 

Our goal as a program is to impact our student-athletes with more than just developing them as better lacrosse players on the field. We encourage and teach respect, school pride, confidence and self-accountability to empower these young women with the hopes that after they have left our program and move on to the next stage they are self-advocating and successful women. The women's lacrosse team is more than just a team or a group of young ladies that are picking up a stick for the first time, they are a family. During our first season the then captains created the slogan "Family STIX Together," and this is true for on the field just as much as it is off the field.
