Storm No.10 - GONI - might be coming on 11/02/2020
Brothers and sisters.
Storm no.8 - SAUDEL
Storm no.9 - MOLAVE
Storm no.10 - GONI (expected on 11/02/2020)
As I am writing these lines to sincerely ask for help from everyone, another storm called storm No.9 - MOLAVE - one of the strongest storms in our history, is forming to once again destroy the beautiful but poor land of Central Vietnam, the born place so many hard-working people but constantly encountering disasters.
Storm No.8 - typhoon SAUDEL - began to sweep through the central provinces of Vietnam from October 9, and continued until October 20, heavy storms accompanied by heavy rains and landslides took away the lives of more than 111 people, including soldiers and the rescue team, leaving dozens of others still missing. The storm left more than 250,000 household and all their crops destroyed, killed almost 700,000 livestock and severely damaged the economy of 7 central provinces of Vietnam including Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang and Quang Nam. The initial estimate of the damage caused by the storms that swept through central Vietnam was nearly 300 million dollars with the storm No. 9 about to continue to hit the land for the second time.
Every day, there are many people who have lost their spouses, parents have lost their children, and children have become orphans by the harshness of nature. I sincerely ask for help from everyone, please share a little of your luck with those who are going through so much loss and unfortune. A day's salary, a new pair of shoes, a meal out, or even just a morning coffee that you give away today means a lot to those in need, to them it could be meals, clothes, medication doses and bottles of clean water to last for days. It is so sad that we have to see our fellow human beings endure so much suffering and pain. Because of the dangerous and devastated aftermath of the storm, I call for urgent help from everyone so that it can reach those in need. I also ask all my fellow Vietnamese brothers and sisters around the world to help your countrymen through this disaster.
Donations will be immediately transferred to a Non-profit Charity Organization name REBIKE FOR KIDS (R4K), a team that works nights and days to turn old and unused bikes into almost brand new ones and give out for free to poor children so they don't have to walk miles to school with bare feet. In this time of hardship, the team immediately focuses on organizing, helping and supporting Central Vietnam to overcome the crisis. Please feel free to find out more about the team below

Specifically, we shall update money uses every week for transparency. Team R4K will work closely with other rescue teams, charity organizations and religious associations to help us recover from the floods and prepare for the coming storm, including:
- Purchase and distribute all vital provisions (rice, bread, instant noodles, clothes, life vests, ...)
- Mobilize large amount of mechanical canoes and boats for rescuing and transporting to flooded areas
- Purchase and operate large capacity clean water filtering machines to help people get clean water immediately
- Stabilize and relocate people to safe and dry areas
- Clear debris, trash and carcasses and rebuild infrastructure in preparation for the next storm
I would like to sincerely thank everyone who took the time to care about other unfortunate lives and to thank all of the warm hearts for supporting people in need through this hardship.
