2020 BP Portrait Competition / Shipping Costs
Donation protected
My goal is to raise $2000 by Sunday, January 19. The funds will go towards covering the shipping costs to send my 32x26in painting to the UK.
This past Friday I received the wonderful news that my painting “Portrait of Cesar Meza” has made it past the first round of judging in the BP Portrait Award 2020 Competition hosted by the National Gallery of Art in London. The next step requires that I send the painting to London for a second round of judging. I already feel grateful to have made it past the first round and would love to keep this small fire alive through this competition.
I have been drawing and painting my whole life, moved to New York City when I was twenty years old to study academic drawing and painting, and for the past seven years I have been working on building my technical skills while developing a philosophy of working close to nature. This portrait represents everything I have been working towards, and having the opportunity to continue to participate in this competition could turn out to be substantially instrumental to the growth of my artistic career.
Any effort to contribute and/or share this with your family and friends who might be interested in sponsoring this venture will be dearly appreciated.
I have gathered here a collection of work that ranges from sketches to more fully developed drawings and paintings that I will give out as a way to thank you for your contribution.
Anything helps-- and if you give $200 or more please see the works below and take your pick. When contributing please send a message with your address and which piece you would like. These will be marked as reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis. Thank you all in advance for considering to help.
