The Bart O’Hearn Celebration is a one of kind event in Austin Texas that has celebrated the lives of over 200 fallen foosers over the past 20 years. What started as a relatively small memorial tournament thrown in honor and remembrance of Bart O’Hearn, a local Austin player, has since taken on a life of its own, celebrating the lives of all our beloved fallen foos family that have left us too soon and attended by hundreds from all over the US and abroad. It has become the most meaningful event in the hearts of the foosball community.
The 2020 Bart O' is a very special one as we mark the 20th anniversary of the tournament and mourn the passing of its creator, Joe Koonce.
Joe was a Texas Legend and pillar of the foosball community, he loved this sport and more so the family that formed around it. For 20 years he worked hard to give us a way to honor, cherish and remember our fallen loved ones and now it's our turn to do the same for him! RIP Joe, thank you for all you did for us and "Foos on!!".
We are asking folks who have been touched by Joe and the tournament to help us continue this wonderful tradition. There are many costs associated with running the tournament and over the years the Bart O' has relied on many, many generous individuals who have contributed both time and money to keep this tournament going, to make it special and to try and improve it every year. Unfortunately the reality is that sponsorships and donations have been declining and the tournament is now in a precarious situation. Any amount that you can contribute is greatly appreciated and all funds go towards the costs of organizing and running the tournament. All sponsorships and donations of over $100 will earn a placement on the sponsors banner and on the tournament flier.
From all the Bart O’ organizers past and present, thank you for considering this cause and we hope to see you in 2020. Foos on!!
