2019 Mark O'Reilly Memorial Swim Meet
Donation protected
Mark O’Reilly was a lot of things to a lot of people. To some, he was Corporal O’Reilly, a machine gun team leader with Kilo company, 3rd Battalion, 1st Marines. To others, he was Coach O’Reilly, a man who viewed the pool as a place to learn the values of hard work and perseverance in addition to the skills that would improve your stroke. To many, he was simply Mark – a father, a friend, a man who loved his Brockton, MA community and spent his personal and professional life serving it.
We honor his memory each year by coming together around the sport he loved in the community he served. Our goal is to continue his legacy by providing current Brockton youth with the opportunity to learn the life lessons that so many of us gained on the pool deck.
Beyond this event, we are hoping to provide three year-long scholarships for kids in Brockton to join local YMCA swim teams – a cost of about $500 per swimmer. Your donation of $50, or whatever you can pitch in, helps make this happen.
