Alyssa Ballard (15) of Amarillo, TX has been invited by USA Weightlifting to compete in the 2019 Buenos Aires CSLP Cup December 1-8 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A National Champion and American Record holder, this is Alyssa's first opportunity to represnt the United States internationally. This trip is unfunded (ie not funded by USA Weightlifting). We will try to raise $7500 to cover the cost of lodging, airfare, food, uniform, and entry fees. We are exited about this opportunity for the community to pull together and go "all in for Alyssa"! Any amount you consider will be helpful! Alyssa is a three time Texas State Champion and the 2019 National Champion. She currently holds six state records. Her records are a 105kg(231lb) Clean and Jerk and 183kg(403lb) total. Alyssa lifts for Panhandle Power Olympic Weightlifting Club. Her coach is Martin Brock. Alyssa is a Sophomore at Randall High School. Her parents are William and Brenda Ballard. Alyssa is committed to, and passionate about, pursuing her dream to compete in the Olympics!
