2019 Medical Mission Trip To Ethiopia

Hey everyone! My name is Akini Moses and I’m a current 2ndyear medical student at Howard University. This summer (June 10th-24th) I’ll be traveling to Gondar, Ethiopia to work alongside medical students, physicians, and other health care professionals to provide quality health care to those in need. I developed a love for volunteering my clinical skills while working as an RN before medical school. This trip will allow me to sharpen my skills, both old and new, while servicing communities and people who could benefit most from them.
 
This trip will also afford me a global view on healthcare, allowing me to begin forming ways to incorporate international medicine into my future career. As both my parents immigrated to America, this opportunity is exciting indeed!
 
I’ll be traveling with 15 of my classmates and three Howard University College of Medicine faculty. In addition to our skills and smiles, we’ll be bringing donated medical supplies so that our presence will benefit the Gondar community long after we depart. I’m thankful to Gondar University Hospital for partnering with us on this experience, and for anyone who’s read this far.
