2019 Canstruction Benefiting Operation Food Search
Donation protected
Mackey Mitchell Architects is kindly asking for your support by making a donation to our team for 2019 Canstruction, a national community service project of the design and construction industry that benefits Operation Food Search , the largest distributor of free food in the bi-state region. Operation Food Search distributes more than 3 million dollars worth of food and household essentials to 330 community partner agencies, which in turn feeds 200,000 people in need each month – nearly one-third of whom are children.
The project pits St. Louis architects, engineers, and construction firms against one another to design and build the best structures out of canned foods. All the food is then donated to food banks for distribution to those in need within the greater St. Louis community.
Mackey Mitchell has had a lot of success in our past CAN-deavors. We’ve been the recipient of both the Structural Ingenuity and People’s Choice awards. Most importantly, it translated into several thousand cans of food donated to our local food banks. We’re hoping to build on our success this year and that’s where we need your help!
Your tax-deductible donation, which can be made through this GoFundMe link or check payable to Mackey Mitchell Architects, will go toward the purchase of the approximately 3,500 cans needed to build this year’s structure, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. If the donation is over $250, first off you’re amazing and thank you, but also your name will be displayed alongside our structure at the St. Louis Science Center between June 22nd and June 30th. Donations in excess of the needed amount will be directly donated to Operation Food Search.
Any amount will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping to CAN-struct a world without hunger!
