2018 Canada Rugby Tour

The Marin Highlanders Rugby Football Club was established in 1980 by a small group of highly motivated Redwood High School students and their parent volunteer coaches.  The Highlanders pride themselves on building competative teams and young people of character.  Today the organization supports over 260 male and female players throughout Marin County, ages 8-18.

For the past several years, our Varsity high school players have traveled both domestically and internationally on tour.  While on tour, the team will meet players and families from other cultures, compete on the field, and develop international friendships.  Every other year it is the Club's goal to arrange an international tour in a country where rugby is a mainstream sport. After playing and training together for many years, our ruggers will be tested by playing in Canada where the sport is a way of life. This year, from April 4th to the 10th, all the hard work and training of these young men will be rewarded.

The team leaves for tour on April 4th where they will play high school and club rugby teams in British Columbia. They will train with top coaches from B.C. Rugby Union and Kampllops Rugby, tour world famous Stanley Park, take a sunset kayaking tour,  Okanagan flyboarding, experience Myra Canyon Adventure Park and play in rugby matches against local clubs

Many of these boys have been playing for the Highlanders since they were seven years old, but not all can afford the opportunity to go on tour as it is self-funded. We have 10 low-income families that are struggling to find a way to send their sons to Canada. This GoFundMe site is set up to raise funds to supplement the team’s efforts in fundraising through raffle tickets,  Christmas tree delivery, hosting a viewing of the Vegas 7's and a car wash.

Please consider giving to a cause that will change these young men’s lives forever. The cost for this amazing experience is $1,780.00 per player and is all inclusive. A $500.00 donation would go a long way to fund a player in need of support. However, we gratefully appreciate a contribution in any amount. Thank you and GO HIGHLANDERS!
