2018 Summer Intensives for Mikaela

Hi, my name is Mikaela. I have been dancing since I was three. The last few years I’ve realized that I want to continue my training past high school, by becoming a professional dancer on a ballet company. I currently dance over 24 hours a week at Barlow Arts Conservatory while still maintaining a 4.0 grade average in school.



This summer I turn 16 and it’s time for me to take action in order to reach this goal. Part of this process is attending summer intensives, a very focused course of study, for major ballet companies. I have auditioned for multiple programs such as Oregon Ballet Theater, American Ballet Theater, and Pacific Northwest Ballet, and I am pleased to say that I have been accepted to train with all three of these companies over the summer.




            After thinking about it, and with the help of some of my teachers, I’ve decided that it would be best for me to train with Pacific Northwest Ballet this summer. The cost to participate in the five week intensive is about $7,500 when you add up registration fee, tuition, room and board, travel fees, and activity fees. To secure my spot at the intensive I have to pay a $600 fee before February 18th. After that, the rest of my tuition is due by April 6th.

            Any donation helps and will be put straight towards the funding for the intensive. I hope you will consider helping me reach my goal so I can further my education in dance and come closer to achieving these goals. Thank you for your help.
