2018 Edinburgh Marathon
Donation protected
Well I am glad that is over. Thanks to everyone who donated and supported me throughout. Delighted to have smashed the fundraising target and can now relax and not stop doing any more daft challenges for a while.
In 2016 I walked the John Muir Way in 3 days - that was very hard but training for it was actually very enjoyable.
In 2017 I did the 3 National 3 peak challenge along with a few others and that was also hard but again the training was very enjoyable.
After volunteering at last years Edinburgh marathon I then foolishly decided that I should do a marathon before I turned 50. Unfortunately that happens later this year so the time is now.
So in 2018 I am running the Edinburgh marathon (hopefully all of it bar a few breathers) and I can honestly say the training has been very hard and much less enjoyable and I haven't even done the longest runs yet. I can only hope that on the day it is somehow easier but I will get round somehow at a quicker pace than I could walk it.
I am raising monies for Aegons nominated charities because they are all worthy causes and I hope I can help make a difference. The charities are:
Alzheimers Research UK
SANDS Lothian
Strathcarron Hospice
Michelle Henderson Cervical Cancer Trust
If you would like to make a donation to help make this ordeal worthwhile that would be most welcome.
The picture I have uploaded shows when I should probably have done the marathon though I am a lot fitter and lighter now than I was then just with slightly less hair and hopefully better dress sense.
If the donations do well I might even let you see the rest of the jumper.
