2017 GPPA/GSOU Annual Fundraiser

Dear Supporter,
The members of the Groton Police Patrolman’s Association and the Groton Superior Officer’s Association have once again begun their annual fundraising campaign! We look forward to having your continued support in 2017.
It is because of the support of citizens like yourself, and with your continued generosity, that we have been able to grow and assist the community’s needs. Last year the funds raised helped a number of local organizations! For the first time ever, GPPA was able to sponsor a GDYSL softball team, helping to this great sport to young girls of all ages. We also were able to donated a substantial amount to GD at Play to help them in their efforts to raise funds to update and renovate the fields at GDRHS. With these two donations, we are helping to keep our youth active, gaining self-confidence, self-esteem, and positive mindset and away from negative temptations that often plague young people.
The Groton DARE program was funded in full by two very generous donations! The students were super excited to sport their custom GPD DARE shirts in North Carolina Blue! Lastly, both Unions helped make Christmas a little brighter for 4 children in town, donating and taking two Florence Roche Elementary school children out for Shop with a Cop at Target in Nashua on December 8th, allowing them to buy a cart full of presents for their families. We also participated in the town wide Community Children's Fund, where we bought Christmas presents for a deserving family in need.
These are just a few of the highlights on how your donations were used last year. We were also able to support some local charities, provide scholarships for high school seniors heading off to college, organized the senior cookout this past spring, and some other wonderful activities in the town. Due to your generosity last year the list was just too long to list them all!
On behalf of both Police Unions, I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you. Without your help and your continued support we would not be able to achieve our goals.
Last year, with the help of citizens like you, we were able to raise just over $15000, which helped make all of this possible! Help us raise the bar so we can afford to do more; give out a second scholarship, adopt another family during Christmas for the Community Children's Fund, and sponsor another team in on of our other town wide youth sports leagues!
