Let's Make an Impact! FIU PA Class
HI!
My name is Michi Carlsson and I am the AAPA representative for FIU's inaugural Master's in Physician Assistant Studies Program at the Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. As a new program, one of the class' goals is to make an impact in the Physician Assisant and South Florida communities.
This May 14th-18th, the American Academy of Physician Assistants is hosting its annual Physician Assistants conference in San Antonio, Texas. It would be a wonderful way for the program to put itself on the map by interacting with Physician Assistants from around the country.
The program would like to send their AAPA representative, myself, Michi Carlsson, and Jake Ries, FIU's AAPA alternate, to the conference to represent the university and to share their experiences with the rest of the class. This is no drop in the hat as many expenses need to be financed such as flights, rooms, and tickets to attend the event. The cost of the trip for two is as follows:
Flight: $530.40
Room: $1,380.00 (most hotels are already booked in the area and are at a premium price)
Tickets: $330
Food: $160 ($20 dollars for food per day for two)
Total:$2400.40 + taxes and fees
With your help, this once in a lifetime opprotunity for the inaugural class to make a statement in the Physician Assistant community can come to fruition.
Please help us get to San Antonio!
