In July 2024, a team of 9 boys from Connecticut will join FCNE and set out on an unprecedented mission: to achieve what no American boys' team has ever done before—win the Gothia Cup! We understand that this endeavor will demand immense effort, unwavering dedication, a dash of luck, but above all, YOUR SUPPORT!

About Gothia Cup

The Gothia Cup stands as the globe's largest and most diverse youth football tournament. Annually, approximately 1,700 teams hailing from 80 nations engage in the competition. This translates to over 25,000 players actively involved in 4,500 games across 110 pitches.

It’s the teams, and participants from around the world that make the tournament unique. A meeting place for the world’s youth, irrespective of religion, skin color or nationality, with football as the common denominator.

Our Objectives:

As we embark on this extraordinary journey, we have outlined several key objectives for our upcoming trip. Foremost among these is to provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to a select group of players who have dedicated considerable time to honing their skills and advancing as athletes.

Our primary aim is victory. Representing our nation in an international tournament is both an honor and a privilege, and we are driven to achieve success on the grandest stage. With our director boasting five appearances at the prestigious Gothia Cup, we possess the knowledge and experience required to pursue victory with determination and focus.

Beginning in June, our chosen players will undertake an intensive training program to ensure they are fully prepared for the challenges ahead. Our dedicated staff will arrange scrimmages to simulate match conditions and enhance team cohesion. Additionally, in July, prior to our journey to Sweden, we will convene for a four-day mini-camp in Denmark. This final preparation stage will afford us the opportunity to scrimmage against local teams renowned for their past performances in the tournament, further refining our tactics and readiness.

Finally, we are committed to sharing our journey and fostering engagement with a wider audience. To this end, we will meticulously document every step of our expedition, with the intention of producing a captivating mini-documentary series that captures the essence of our pursuit and inspires others to follow their dreams in the world of sports.

Our Ask:

Each enriching experience entails a significant financial commitment. The collective expense for the 9 players and 3 staff members partaking in the trip totals $52,400. Acknowledging the financial burdens already carried by each family for their regular club activities throughout the year, our aim is to secure funding to cover 80% of the costs for every player joining the excursion.

ALL FUNDS RAISED WILL BE DIRECTED TOWARDS THE EXPENSES OF THE TRIP. NO STAFF OR CLUB WILL TAKE ANY PERCENTAGE AS PROFIT OR PAYMENT.
