Our friend Nickie is extraordinary. Today she could really use your help!
Nickie’s parents passed away when she was a child, and she has been on her own, working multiple jobs, ever since. For the past eight years she has been a preschool teacher and picks up part time nanny gigs on the side to make ends meet. Nickie is nurturing, loving, and generous with her time, and children and their parents adore her. But she has always struggled to stay afloat financially and to care for herself in the same way she has cared for so many others.
A year ago Nickie started a self-improvement journey, learning to take care of herself both physically and emotionally. She is eating healthy, exercising, and taking time for self-care, and in the process, she has lost over 200 pounds! She feels better than ever and is hoping to soon be able to return to school to continue her specialization in Early Childhood Education.
But since Thanksgiving Nickie has faced three traumatic health issues, each requiring surgery. Forced to miss work to recover, unable to pick up extra child care work in the evenings, and facing massive medical bills, Nickie’s financial and emotional state has taken a real beating. She is recovering well from her hospitalizations, but she needs our help.
We’re so proud of Nickie’s journey to becoming her authentic self, and we would hate to see it derailed by the financial stress she is currently under.
