200km row for Em
Donation protected
Kate Wood & Melanie van Bentum are rowing 200km in support of Em and her gorgeous young family.
With the support of Anytime Fitness Avalon (Paul Grey) and Blake Property Avalon, we will row 200km on Saturday 6th May, 2023 at Anytime Avalon from 6am.
This family needs all the support possible for the huge medical bills that are growing every day and for the future.

The current situation is extremely challenging as Em is battling metastatic breast cancer which has unfortunately spread to various parts of her body, leading to a terminal diagnosis. Em's determined spirit refuses to let this diagnosis win. Despite the challenges she has faced over the past three years, she has fought courageously and shows no signs of giving up.
However Ems condition has recently worsened, leaving her unable to perform even the simplest daily tasks. Debilitating symptoms such as dizzy spells, mini blackouts, and 24/7 nausea and vomiting have left her bedridden for most of the day, requiring constant care and assistance. In addition to these symptoms, Em is also experiencing excruciating levels of chronic pain, which makes it challenging for her to carry out everyday activities. This pain is a constant struggle for her, and it has severely impacted her quality of life.

As a result, Em is no longer able to care for her two young children, Mya (7) and Ryan (4). Her devoted husband, Dave, who worked full-time until recently, has taken on the role of her full-time caregiver due to Em's increased need for around-the-clock care.

That’s why we are launching this new GoFundMe campaign - Our goal is to help Em and her family continue to pay their rent and afford her ongoing and lifesaving medical bills.
Em is an inspirational soul who has touched the lives of many through her unwavering bravery and positivity. A devoted mother, proud wife, and loving friend, she has faced this challenging journey with courage and grace, inspiring those around her with her resilience and unwavering spirit.

Not only is Em an inspiring individual, but she is also an incredibly talented writer. Through her blog on Instagram, she shares her journey with cancer and offers valuable insights into natural and alternative medicine, as well as navigating a challenging diet. Her posts are raw, honest, and offer a glimpse into the inner workings of a remarkable human being. By following her on Instagram, you’ll stay updated on her progress and gain inspiration from her beautiful words. *Tissues may be necessary*
