2001 Honda XR650R Auction Bike Build

Donation protected
I have owned this 2001 Honda XR650R since 2010, the bike will be 20 years old come 2021. I have gotten my use out of the bike and it has made me the rider I am today.

Raising money for a veterans group is something that I have wanted to do for a LONG time. What better way then use the contacts I have built over the years in the motorcycle industry to fix up my bike and donate it to a great cause in the form of an auction. However the old gal is almost 20 years old  and has been ridden, it needs some repairs, new parts and just a good refreshing.

Some say I'm crazy, or that I must be rich. Neither is the case, I just would love to see the bike go to a good home and raise money for a good cause like 'Motorcycle Relief Project'. I hope the winner of the auction can use the bike and enjoy it like I have for 10 years and 100,000+ miles. Plus you will be helping to raise money for Veterans to have fun and to get much needed help through 'Motorcycle Relief Project'. This bike is a testament to the build quality of Honda and is probably will be remembered as a very important part of motorcycling history.

Morgan at Highland Cycles (Montrose, Colorado) has taken on the task of installing new parts, and more importantly getting the bike ready for it's new home. Without him, I probably wouldn't be able to make this happen, a stand up guy that loves riding, and loves his Big Red Pig (BRP), that he also owns.

The idea of this GoFundMe is that I'm sure there are people that want to help me raise as much money as possible by fixing this bike up. A well sorted bike raises more money then a not so well sorted bike. Plus I'm sure between the companies I know and Morgan knows we will get donated parts however due to the times we live in not all companies can donate but yet we might want to still put on a Lectron, or an e-Start Kit from C-Fab, or maybe we will need a few OEM parts from Honda etc and thus that is where you all come in, by donating so we can sort the bike out and raise as much money as possible.

Plus I'm sure you all would love to see a well sorted bike with some trick parts that maybe you wanted to know how they would install onto an XR650R and a $20 donation might allow you to see just that.

All funds from this GoFundMe will be used for the bike in terms of parts, accessories, etc. If we raise more money then we need then 'Motorcycle Relief Project' gets the extra money. It's that simple. If Morgan digs into my bike and says "man there is no fixing this" 'Motorcycle Relief Project' gets the money raised here at GoFundMe.

Help me make this dream happen!

If you are a company seeing this then reach out and contact Morgan or myself.

You will be able to get updates of the bike build here, but also at the following links along with when we do the eBay auction for the bike to raise the money for 'Motorcycle Relief Project'.
