20 year old injured in fall accident
Donation protected
Danlee was assisting his brother in the framing of a house Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in St. George, Utah. They were lifting a wall, which was Danlee’s focus instead of watching his footing. He stepped off into a stair well, hit a pony wall and landed on the cement floor. The fall was approximately 11 feet. He landed on his head, shattering his skull, pushing out his left eye, breaking his neck and several ribs.
When the emergency crew got him to the hospital, the doctors took him directly into surgery and removed over ¼ of his skull, from the eye to behind his ear on the left side. He spent 3 days sedated and on the ventilator, and on the 4th day, they removed the vent. He was on oxygen, had a feeding tube, and still had the IV for meds. He did very well as they brought him out of sedation, and they moved him out of the ICU.
However, during that night, suddenly his vital dropped, and a team ran into his room. His lungs were full of fluid, his oxygen levels were in the 60’s and would not go up despite high-flow oxygen. The took him back to ICU where he was sedated, suctioned, and put back on the ventilator. Currently he is stable but low, and still in ICU.
Danlee’s mother, Rosalee, lives in Idaho where she is under the care of a team of doctors who are trying to find options for her dialysis. It is important for her to be with Danlee as much as possible and to meet her critical medical needs, all while juggling travel, food and lodging.
Danlee and his family still have a long road ahead, with re-hab, therapy, and several more surgeries. At this point, the extent of his injuries and the long-term damage are unknown. We are very grateful to anyone who would like to help Danlee with this journey. Funds will go to his mother to make his monthly payments and help in covering expenses in his behalf.
