#20 Scowden Emergency Medical Fund

This GoFundMe account has been established to help with the unexpected medical expenses for the Scowden Family of Ostrander, Ohio.

As many of you may know, Troy Scowden #20, is a star basketball player at Buckeye Valley High School.  Troy is currently a sophomore, a good student and a stand out when it comes to helping others.  He learned his love of helping others directly from his wonderful parents, Jeremy and April Scowden.

Last Friday, December 6, 2019, in the first quarter of a home game against Columbus Academy, Troy went up to dunk the ball, was accidently hit, and fell backwards landing on his head.  He was unconscious and had a seizure in front of his Baron fans, friends, and most importantly his parents and sister, Morgan.  This was the most scary moment of their lives.  Everyone thinks that if a basketball player is injured it will likely be a sprained ankle, bruises from a fall, or maybe a knee injury.  What Troy suffered is the unthinkable.  He was transported to the hospital via ambulance and his family was told that he had a severe concussion along with a skull fracture and bleeding on his brain.  His parents have not left his side.  They have vigilantly sat next to his bed praying for a miracle.  Praying that Troy would be able to move his arms and legs. Praying that Troy would not have permanent brain damage.  Praying for the seizures to stop.  Troy was admitted to ICU where he remains today, December 10, 2019.  The entire Buckeye Valley community has been praying and spreading the word that this family needs support.  The prayers are working because he is awake.  He can move his arms and legs.  He is remembering things and responding to his parents and doctors.  Keep the prayers coming.

Now it is time to go beyond the prayers and support them with a financial donation.  Insurance only covers so much  of medical expenses and the total cost of his stay in ICU, a regular room, physical therapy and possible more can devastate a family's economic resources.  Any money raised here will go directly to them.  No donation amount is too small.  You do not have to disclose to others on GoFundMe as to how much you donated.
