Walking 20 miles to Revive St. Wilfrid's Church!
Donation protected
St. Wilfrid's is a busy church, standing at the heart of Lidget Green and Scholemoor since 1905, and now serving our community in many different ways - a Stay and Play group, community pantry, and wellbeing café to name only a few.
We're also a growing church! After nearly closing our doors in 2016, we are blessed to have a different story and a new future, thriving as a congregation who deeply care about our neighbours and our city.
As we celebrate our history and our 120th anniversary, under the project banner of 'Revival120,' we're seeking to revive our beautiful Grade II listed building so that we can build our existing ministry, enhance our service and hospitality to the wider community, and see both our church and building flourish for 120 years to come, and beyond! We're specifically seeking to restore our roof, the heating system, and our audiovisual equipment.
To do all of this, we need funds, and we therefore need to fundraise! Adam and Sarah will be leading a group walk of 20 miles, from Bolton Abbey back to St Wilfrid’s Church, on 20th September 2025, to help us achieve our goal.
Revival 120 is an ambitious project, and we are an ambitious church, so we are setting an ambitious and audacious combined target of £20,000 - that's £1000 per mile! Whatever you can give to this target will be most gratefully received, and will help us not only restore our building, but will help us develop our support and outreach for the common good of our area for years and even generations to come!
