Ryland John Frangipani
Donation protected
Jillona (Smull) Frangipani and Danny Frangipani lost their sweet boy Ryland John Frangipani in a tragic accident on January 14, 2024 near their home in Scappoose, OR. It has left the family heartbroken and struggling to deal with his passing.
Ryland had spent the afternoon playing and enjoying time with visiting family members when the unimaginable occurred. Even though the family has good medical insurance coverage this event will mean that in addition to their unending grief the family will have lost wages, uncovered medical and mental health counseling expenses as well as headstone and cemetery costs.
We hope you will see fit to donate to this go fund me account in lieu of memorial flowers or other memorial gifts.
Please read more about sweet Ryland below.
His entire family was blessed by the arrival of Ryland (Ry,Ry). He was a sweet tempered, curly-headed little boy, described as a beautiful blue-eyed likeness of his Mother Jillona. He was inquisitive, a snuggle bug and perfectly content with being held by any family members whether at home in Scappoose or in the middle of a branding pen in Durkee.
In his short life he seemed to have mastered getting his aunts, uncles, and cousins to do things his way. Their memories recount Ryland only allowing a selfie if HE could push the button, he required his aunt to sit on the floor with him to give her hugs, he turned a tough night of teething into fort building fun and eventually a sleeping zone. He could also choose to only eat if a specific cousin fed him, and he was also able to get them to sneak him treats.
Ryland had two birthday parties, and both were shared special occasions. The first allowed his dad’s family to secretly plan and gather their whole family for Ryland’s Grandparent’s 40th Anniversary while also letting him destroy a cake for his own celebration. His second was a joint party with his brother Weston where he learned to blow out candles with some help from Dad and Brother. This party also allowed him to indulge in getting his hands into the cake and to enjoy eating some frosting.
At only two years old he already had a zest for life. He loved basketball, playing with trucks, getting horseback rides, playing chase outside and even inside during family holidays at Grandma Patty's house! He visited a pumpkin patch with cousins, and he got help holding sparklers this past 4th of July while screaming and laughing at the big fireworks.
His life was a gift to his family, and they will miss his ever-present smile, heartwarming and frequent hugs, his excited squeals, his snack time giggles and the twinkle in his eye. Ryland touched many lives and will remain in the family’s hearts forever. We know he was greeted in the heavenly fields by the outstretched arms of his Grandma Sharry.
He was preceded in death by Grandma Sharry Smull, Uncle Christopher Allen Smull and Uncle Keith Neil Frangipani. He is survived by his Parents Daniel Frangipani and Jillona Frangipani, his brother Weston, Grandparents, Patty and Brian Frangipani, Dale Smull, Aunt Michelle Philbrick (Matthew), Uncles Joseph Frangipani (Fiancé Hannah) and Jared Smull (Amanda) as well as Great Grandparents and numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
