We are two young adventurers, ages 12 and 13, joining a team of local athletes on Alpine Quest 2, a mission to raise awareness about what is happening to the mountains that we love. This summer, the entire team will cycle across 1,500 kilometers through the Alps, going via Europe's highest glaciers, documenting what's happening and helping the world understand that climate change isn't a distant problem—it's happening right now in the mountains we can see and enjoy.

Everest and Finn, (that's us), are joining them on part of the journey through the Swiss Alps, cycling hundreds of miles, hiking with crampons, sleeping near the glaciers and getting as close as possible to the real issues. We will be followed by a documentary film making team so that everyone can learn and take action. We have been training, getting physically ready and also mentally and emotionally in flow for the big adventure ahead. The days will be long but totally worth it.

As temperatures rise, glaciers that have existed for thousands of years are rapidly melting right before our eyes, changing the mountains, the water supply and entire communities. By inviting us along on this expedition, Alpine Quest 2 is capturing this transformation and inspiring our generation to become climate leaders. We are both honored, inspired, a little nervous and realize the importance of what is happening.
