Fawwaz is an international master’s student in Northern Cyprus whose life has been suddenly and painfully put on hold by serious health complications.
Coming from a humble background, Fawwaz has always fought for his future. He graduated with a first-class bachelor’s degree while working grueling shifts, sometimes up to 50 hours a week, taking on physically demanding jobs just to survive and keep his education alive. He never asked for help. He endured.
But over a year ago, everything changed.
While working at a car wash, Fawwaz suffered a traumatic injury to his scrotum after being accidentally struck by a high-pressure water hose. What seemed like a painful incident at the time has since developed into a serious medical condition. After clinical evaluation, he was diagnosed with a Varicocele, a condition that now requires urgent surgery. His doctors have warned that if the operation is not carried out within the next two months, it could lead to permanent complications including infertility and testicular shrinkage.
For a year plus, Fawwaz has lived with worsening pain on his testicles, unable to afford the surgery despite trying every possible means to raise the funds.
Then, just as he was struggling to cope with this, another frightening development occurred.
About a month ago, Fawwaz suddenly collapsed at work on three separate occasions. These slumping led to prompt medical consultations with both a cardiologist and a neurologist. Further examinations revealed an underlying congenital heart valve defect alongside severe hypotension, conditions that are now triggering recurrent fainting (syncope) attacks.
He has since been strictly advised to stop all physical labour indefinitely while undergoing further critical tests and monitoring.
In a matter of weeks, Fawwaz has lost everything:
his health, his job, and the ability to continue his education.
He is now unable to work, unable to fund his treatment, and facing a rapidly narrowing window to undergo life-altering surgery. As his close friend, I have witnessed firsthand Fawwaz’s struggles and excruciating medical circumstances.
We are trying to raise £6,000 to cover:
- The cost of his urgent varicocele surgery
- Ongoing cardiology and neurology examinations
- Essential medical tests and medications
- Basic living expenses during his recovery period
This is more than a medical fundraiser; it is a chance to give Fawwaz his life back.
Every donation, no matter how small, brings him one step closer to recovery, stability, and the opportunity to continue the education he has sacrificed so much for.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign. Your support could make the difference between hope and irreversible loss.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
