I never imagined to be writing this - On the 24th February 2019 my beautiful best friend/sister was involved in a life changing incident when she was riding.
She was thrown & seriously damaged her back. Shar had emergency surgery to try to piece her back together & is in ICU having been initially put in to a coma & then deep sedation for 3 weeks. Last week they put in a tracheotomy to help her breath & brought her out of the sedation.

She lives in Lincoln with her husband & 3 children, but is in Nottingham Hospital & I live in Buckinghamshire (130 miles away). We think that eventually she will be moved to Sheffield ( a further 60 miles away) to start months of rehabilitation which is even further from us all. She is a fighter, but this will all take time.
With her husband having to return to work soon as Shar stayed at home to care for the children. I am looking to raise funds to support the family at this very difficult time.
We will need to get ( and have already the best we can ) some equipment to help her recovery. Currently she has a small amount of movement in her arms & hands & they are working on trying to help her to speak again. As time goes on we will understand the best things to get her based on what the medical teams advise.
Helping to get the kids to schools ( they live in a very rural location so buses are not an option), support if family need to stay near her when she is moved further away. Even the huge costs for petrol to visit her & this is so important to keep her spirits up, give moral & emotional support.
