Guirlinger's 2 minute Offense

Frank Guirlinger went to bed a fully Independent man and woke up a day later paralyzed and In the ICU fighting for his life.. I am Amanda Kulka.. AKA "Frank's Nurse" after a lot of thought I have decided to launch a go fund me for one of my dearest and closest friends Frank Guirlinger. I first met Frank over 5 year's ago as my neighbor and soon good friend... I now find myself as Franks caregiver.    Frank went to bed one night a work out fanatic, barefoot water skier, top of the ladder in his career, taking care of a wife and 2 children to waking up a quadriplegic. Frank had an infection develop in the spinal cord/vertabre. He was rushed to surgery and catastrophically woke up unable to move and part of his body. Waking up in an ICU unable to communicate, unable to eat, on life support (Ventilator)...  Frank fought for 40 days in the ICU for his life, with his family and friends by his side. By the grace of God he was able to stabilize enough to be transferred to an inpatient rehab where he continued to get better. The peg tube was removed and some strength started to come back. The end of October 2015 this newly paralyzed man came home to his wife and two children and the shock of what would be their new normal.  Frank went from 10 + Prescriptions to now taking NOTHING but all natural methods. Since the day Frank came home he has not stopped being amazing. He continues to do therapy 2 times a week for 3 hours at a time, With help he has gotten up ready and out of bed every single day, He went on to continue working and financially supporting all of his efforts, care and needs on his own. Going through over 1 million in their own money. Frank how's work diligently over the last three and a half years to walk and it was a miracle a month ago when he started to finally take steps on his own with the use of a walker something the doctors would have never thought could have happened. He has worked so hard he gained enough strength to learn how to drive again. He purchased a wheelchair accessible van and has literally driven the wheels off taking care of his friends and family. I have never once hear Frank complain about his situation, instead he remains fearless, he keeps his faith and focus  Frank's level of recovery is unknown but I do know that his recovery is inevitable. Unfortunately one person can only sustain the financial end for so long. We are putting up the SOS flag and asking for any funding or resources to assist in  Frank's recovery..  The wheelchair is being held together by duck tape, the wheelchair van is half functional and at this point just basic life necessities. Frank also has a goal of getting a stem cell transplant to also help his physical recovery. I will continue to do my part in his recovery process because I believe in him so much. I hope The fund me site can help bring together the rest of Frank's team of loved one's acquaintances, co-workers, neighbors, old friends and family to please help in any way or provide any extra resources able to help Frank in his recovery to help him live a quality existence and to help get him fully walking and independent again.
