2 Eyes, 1 Hope: Help Fund My Wife’s Vision-Saving Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Aldo, and I am fundraising for my beautiful wife, Michelina, who desperately needs Cataract Surgery. My wife, Michelina, has always been the light of my life. For 20 years, her laughter has been my favourite sound, her smile my greatest joy, and her unwavering love the anchor that has carried me through life’s storms. But today, that light is dimming. Cataracts have stolen the vibrant world she once saw so clearly, leaving her trapped with blurring vision and blinding headaches.
Michelina is more than my wife — she’s a fighter, a dreamer, and a soul who finds beauty in everything. Now, she hesitates to walk without holding my arm. She misses the details she once cherished: the way sunlight dances on leaves, the expressions on our loved ones’ faces, even the simple joy of reading a book.
Cataracts have robbed her of independence, but they haven’t touched her spirit. Even now, Michelina jokes about “seeing life through a foggy window,” but I hear the ache in her voice. She longs to reclaim the life she loved — to cook without fear of burns, to watch our granddaughter, to stroll hand-in-hand with me at the seashore with our little French Bulldog, Raffy. Most of all, she wants to look into my eyes and see the love I’ve spent a lifetime trying to show her.
Her eyes were diagnosed with cataracts over two years ago but the optometrist said he could not refer her to the public eye hospital until the cataracts had developed more. Her eyes have now steadily and progressively been deteriorating at an ever increasing rate and we have no indication as to when she can see (no pun intended) a specialist. They are so bad, they have completely reversed her eyesight. She is no longer able to drive even with prescription glasses and she is so nervous in the car as a passenger that she jumps in fear even as cars come to a stop at side streets waiting to enter the main road.
This surgery isn’t just about vision — it’s about hope. Modern medicine can restore her sight in both eyes, but we can’t afford the steep costs alone. With your help, Michelina could rediscover the world’s beauty and reclaim the life she deserves. Every dollar brings her closer to watching our family grow, rediscovering her passions, and waking up to a future bright with possibility.
I’m humbly asking you to help me give my wife the miracle she needs. Michelina has spent her life caring for others; now, it’s our turn to care for her. Together, we can lift this darkness and let her light shine again.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for giving Michelina the chance to see, smile, and live fully once more.
