URGENT MEDICAL CASE

PLEASE, PLEASE SHARE! IF YOU CAN HELP, WE CAN'T EXPRESS HOW IMPORTANT THAT IS TO THEIR SAFETY AND HEALTH.

Meet Sierra and Sahara
2 Fawn Dobermans

When it rains, it pours! We need emergency funds ASAP! Great Babies Rescue is in dire need of funds. Expenses will be extreme to go pick them up and stay overnight on the East Coast. They are 26 hours away, round trip! (More details below). They have already been bounced around the country, only leaving California sometime after April 14th. They were stuck in a high-kill shelter for weeks.

Another rescue reached out, asking Great Babies Rescue if they would take in two Dobermans that were being boarded because the original rescue that pulled from CA had no fosters. GBR thought it was just "another pair," until we spoke to one of our followers, Lana Marie, and found out that she referred the original rescue to us. She said, "this is critical." She had followed these dogs from California, from both public and behind the scenes, and thought that they were already placed. She was made aware of these fawn Dobermans when she saved the 2 cream Dobermans out of the same shelter in CA.

These dogs absolutely need more extensive medical treatment ASAP! THIS IS WHEN WE LEARNED THE HELL THAT THESE TWO WENT THROUGH!

This pair was emaciated, sick, and in an absolute nightmare of a condition, set to be euthanized in a California shelter. They were surrendered from a horrible home, and possibly never knew love, and definitely didn't know care. They were too ill to travel, so they were given antibiotics and minimal vet treatment out west... enough to go to a foster home in CA.

At some point, they were transported to the East Coast by a rescue out of Pennsylvania, with no adopter or foster. To make matters worse, the male is in worse condition than before, so we already have a vet appointment set up. He has started a round of antibiotics since he is coughing, wheezing, and not feeling well in general. GBR is very worried. Sahara needs to make this transport, and the vet for Great Babies Rescue advised that the treatment started is going to be enough to hold him over until Vet Amy gets hands on him Thursday. We wanted to complete the whole journey yesterday, as we had transport volunteers to help, but canceled because Sahara needs a rest period. We will take him to an ER if he declines any further... we would like to avoid having him stuck somewhere in limbo.

GBR does have ownership of both dogs, and our president, Terry Havens Holzheimer, will have hands on Sierra and Sahara tomorrow.

While they look better than they did in Cali, this boy needs to be handled very carefully.

We couldn't let them suffer any further after we saw their pic and their story. Wise? Nope. But we couldn't leave them where they had NO SAFE place and no foster home available. That's hard to find with one dog, let alone two.

THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR PAST SUPPORT, AND WE WILL FOREVER BE APPRECIATIVE OF ANY HELP WITH THESE TWO ❤️

Our Great Babies Rescue team wants to thank our supporters for stepping up at the last minute and providing a safe haven for a couple of days prior to the first leg of this journey, and during their journey all the way to Paoli, IN.

  • Please note, in CA, dogs named Rocket and Chantilly
  • In PA, names changed to Lena and Lucas
  • Final name change is Sierra and Sahara!

Updates will obviously be provided, as well as receipts.
