Help the Logans - 2 Cancers in 2 Years and Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
I am starting this GoFundMe because many of you that know Jen have asked “What can we do for Jen. How can we help her? There must be something.”
After careful consideration, we decided that even though she would never ask for money, helping her financially with any amount could help ease the burden of future expenses.
Jen is currently going through her 2nd breast cancer diagnosis in two years and she is limited on how much she can work. The latest news was received on November 18, 2024, while she was still recovering from the devastation left behind by Hurricane Helene on September 26, 2024. Pictures are included, because we all know pictures don’t lie. The pain of losing so much in the hurricane, to turn around and fight cancer a 2nd time (worse than 1st time), was testing her will to live and keep going.
This journey started in June 2022, when Jen faced a devastating blow when she was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time. The shock hit her, her daughter, and her loved ones like a tidal wave. But anyone who knows Jen knows that she’s not one to be defeated by life’s challenges.
She underwent a double mastectomy, only to be met with more infections, daily infusions in September & surgeries in October, November and December of 2022. She has had 8 surgeries to date as a result of cancer with more lurking in the future.
After months of painful recovery, each scar she bore was worn as a symbol of the strength, determination, and unyielding spirit that carried her through. Finally, she could begin to heal, both physically and emotionally, and embrace life as a breast cancer survivor.
Through all of this, Jen remained the rock for everyone around her. She supported her daughter through high school graduation, cheered her on as she left for college, and tried to work as much as she could. Despite her own pain, Jen never stopped loving, giving, and making everyone around her feel special. She found joy in the little things—spending time with her grandkids, helping others, and doing the things that brought her happiness, even within her new limitations.
Just when Jen thought she might finally catch a breath, life had more in store for her. In September 2024, while on a routine drive to visit a client, Jen discovered a lump under her arm. Before she could even schedule an appointment, disaster struck. Hurricane Helene swept through Florida, flooding Jen's home with nearly 4 feet of water. Her home was devastated—family photos, furniture, 2 cars, irreplaceable memories—all lost to the floodwaters. Jen watched helplessly as everything she had worked so hard for was destroyed.
Then, just two weeks later, Hurricane Milton came through, adding to the damage and making Jen’s already overwhelming situation even harder. But still, she didn’t stop. She picked herself up, began the painful process of cleaning up again, and tried to hold it all together.
She finally made a doctor’s appointment to address the lump which then began a series of tests. Then came the call. The cancer has returned, this time in her lymph nodes. Her world was turned upside down once more.
But Jen - She wasn’t done yet. She faced the whirlwind of tests, appointments, and procedures with the same fierce determination that has always defined her. It is necessary now, that we do everything we can to keep her stress at a minimum. She had surgery January 15, 2025, which revealed the cancer went outside the lymph nodes and cancer was on both sides of her muscle, resulting in a more intense treatment plan than originally expected. She is going through chemo and radiation now with many more months of treatment and side effects. She was given 3 years if she didn’t go through an aggressive treatment plan, and that just isn’t enough time.
She may be battling cancer again, but she’s also battling to live a full, joyful life. A life where she watches her daughter graduate from medical school, get married, have children, and create a beautiful future. A life where she watches her grandkids grow, takes family vacations, and continues to make lasting memories. Jen has so much more life left to live, and she is not going to give up now. She is fighting for the future she deserves. She has more bad days than good days, but she continues to try. But right now, she needs our help. Jen has NOT received any insurance money, SBA money or anything which is why we have started this GoFundMe.
Jen has always been the first to give, to help, to put others before herself. Jen’s strength is unmatched. Her resilience is inspiring. She has shown all of us what it means to keep fighting, to keep loving, and to never, ever give up. Now, let's show her the same love and support she’s given to so many.
We are asking for your support as Jen has a 2nd round of medical bills, ongoing home repairs, and the emotional and physical toll that cancer is taking on her. Every donation will help her focus on healing, so she can continue fighting and moving forward with her life and help her continue to support and provide for her daughter who is still in school pursing her doctorate. She’s incredibly proud of Alexis, an amazing young woman, who deserves all the opportunities she can get. Donations will help Alexis access the resources and education she needs to build a successful and fulfilling future, easing a significant worry for Jen during this challenging time. Knowing that her educational path is secured would bring immense peace of mind.
Together, we can help Jen overcome this hurdle, and make sure she’s able to look toward a bright, happy future. A future filled with family, love, and the peace she so deeply deserves. We can’t wait to celebrate Jen’s next victory, and the many more memories to come.
Please consider donating today and keep Jen in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for being a part of her journey, your support will make a profound difference in her Jen and Alexis’ life. If you can’t donate, please take time to share this with others.
